Hand-made book
Mind Landscapes is a book project based on the sketches, texts and atmospheric impressions on a journey. Conceptual and visual depictings of encounters within the land of the United States the first time: long flights, meeting with multi-cultural society, wide landscapes, big cities and museums left its traces in formation of Vardanyan’s artistic vision. Leading motive of the work is the horizon line and the humans’ basic instinctive longing to cross that line, in order of seeing what is beyond. The book includes paintings on paper with etching ink, printed pages with text and drawings from the journey sketchbooks.
